Hello, my name is Anakin Gay. I am an Afro-Latinx artist based in Los Angeles. I specialize in concept and 3d modeling art. I am a second-year student at Otis College of Art and Design. My desire to become an artist comes from a deep love of nature and animals. Nature and animals have motivated me to become a concept artist who creates imaginative worlds and creatures. I hope that my designs can one day come to life in any form of entertainment. One of my proudest achievements in art is a creature concept I brought to life and made into a life-size puppet. Creating the creature's physical form was especially special because it was now something I could tangibly feel and touch. My excitement about this project came from my interest in movies involving puppets and practical effects. I have always enjoyed the media that uses Jim Henson's Creature Shop practical effects because the tangibility of their puppets makes the fantastical creatures come to life in a way that is hard to replicate with CGI.
